Artist Leah Foster Strings Together 10,000 Cupcakes

Cupcakes have arrived - the  Huffington Post finds them news worthy, evidenced by the article below, from one of their recent publications.

In New York City, the cupcake craze is the biggest thing to happen to this town since, well, bacon. Every weekend locals and tourists line up at Magnolia bakery to indulge in their buttery, indulgent treats, and everyone goes mad whenever a Crumbs opens nearby.

Artist Leah Foster flipped this obsession on its head this month with her exhibit Muffin Tops in the back of Con Artist at 119 Ludlow. She spent months baking cupcakes and shipped thousands from her last show in Texas, then strung them up with fishing wire into towering spires that resemble Homer Simpson's donut hell.

As The Bowery Boogie points out, she's lucky the East Village rats haven't taken her delicious installation down yet.
